Center Program Director

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Assist participants with daily living activities (toileting, feeding, transferring, and bathing, etc.);
  • Plan and conduct daily activity programs for individuals and groups;
  • Implement participant care plans and record progress, revise care plan if necessary;
  • Observe participants for any change in behavior or routine and communicate to family, doctor, emergency medical services if necessary;
  • Ensure proper staff to participant ratios;
  • Complete participant assessments and write care plans;
  • Provide orientation and ongoing training to Total Life Center Staff;
  • Plan and facilitate weekly staff meetings;
  • Ensure that administrative tasks are completed correctly and in a timely manner including, but not limited to end of month reports, petty cash management and receipt of participant payments;
  • Attend monthly management meetings;
  • Ensure the Total Life Center is operated according to the North Carolina Adult Day Care and Day Health Services Standards;
  • Ensure a neat, clean and safe environment for the participants;
  • Ensure participant retention by maintaining high standards of customer service;
  • Ensure proper and timely response to inquiries and promote program enrollment;
  • Work at other Total Life Center locations as needed with minimum 1-hour notice;
  • Know and comply with Resources for Seniors Personnel Policies;
  • Maintain participant confidentiality;
  • Perform other duties pertinent to program and departmental assignments as requested or required by supervisors.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Commitment to work cooperatively and patiently with impaired older adults, their representatives and staff;
  • Exhibit knowledge and understanding of the needs of aging and disabled adults;
  • Ability to plan and conduct a varied, structured program of individual and group activities;
  • Exhibit managerial and administrative skills including the ability to supervise staff and to plan and coordinate staff training;
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the Essential Duties including the transfer of participants with or without reasonable accommodations.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Two years of formal post-secondary education from an accredited institution of education or a High School diploma or its equivalent with five years’ experience providing activities and services, preferably to impaired adults and seniors (Bachelor’s degree preferred.);
  • At least two years of work experience in a human services area and demonstrated ability in supervision and administration;
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid training within one month of being hired;
  • At least one-year experience with personal care (health/combination models).
