Program Director-Service Coordination

RFS is seeking candidates for a Program Director of the Service Coordination department located at the Main Office.  The Program Manager will direct & assume responsibility for all functions of the Service Coordination Department under the direction of the President of the Agency.  Key elements of the position include supervising staff who perform (1) Service Coordination (at local affordable housing complexes, (2) the SHIIP program for Wake County under contract with the NC Department of Insurance, and (3) the Information and Assistance role at partner Senior Centers and communities across the County.

 

The qualified candidate would meet the qualifications listed below:

  • Fundamental knowledge of the methods and principles of program development, administration and supervision; of accepted practices, principles and techniques in the human services and the applicable program concentration and of interviewing and assessment techniques;
  • Fundamental knowledge of database software used to promote appropriate resources to the public at large;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships with staff, clients and other members of the community to coordinate staff roles in delivery of services; to meet deadlines, arrange priorities and coordinate daily work activities of self and subordinate employees and to develop, maintain and utilize accurate records;
  • Excellent time management, communication and organizational skills;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the needs of the aging, disabled and low-income populations;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential;
  • Degree from a four-year college or equivalent;
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a field appropriate to individual program requirements;
  • Case Management/Social Worker experience strongly preferred;
  • Minimum one year of responsible program administration and supervision/management experience.

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

Plans and coordinates the internal service delivery system of the program to develop, implement and maintain the effective and efficient delivery of direct client services;

  • Assesses and evaluates program effectiveness and makes recommendations for changes;
  • Provides information and input into the development of departmental policies, procedures, goals and objectives;
  • Manage all Service Coordination Contracts and assist with obtaining future contracts;
  • Oversee the SHIIP contract and service delivery, and responsibilities that are assigned to those contracts;
  • Coordinates the Information Services community outreach function at partner Senior Centers;
  • Participates as a key member of the agency management team with leadership and support roles to agency management;
  • Works closely with funders to ensure compliance with contract and MOU requirements;
  • Supervises subordinate personnel or arranges for appropriate supervision;
  • Coordinates program services with other inter-and intra-agency service resources;
  • Monitors the status of program services delivery to ensure compliance with established goals, procedures, policies and internal requirements;
  • Prepares required program, funding source and agency reports;
  • Interviews and assists in the orientation and training of staff and assures that all staff within the program are qualified to provide the services involved;
  • Provides direct client service as required and appropriate;
  • Increase departmental knowledge base through continuing education/training regarding available programs and services (new & ongoing) and sharing knowledge with coworkers;
  • Acts as an advocate for the older adult throughout the service delivery system;
  • Coordinates activities with other department, agency staff to ensure a cohesive system of service delivery;
  • Maintains all records as per established agency and department procedures;
  • Performs related duties as required and other duties as requested.
